THE COMMISSIONS PROCESS
SIZE
First thing is to decide the best size for your commission. If you are unsure the perfect size for your space, I am happy to help you decide!
INSPIRATION
I mostly work from photographs so if you have a specific image in mind that’s the best place to start. I appreciate any inspiration you can provide - what particular paintings/style of mine caught your eye?
To capture the right mood for the piece it also helps for me to see the space you intend to hang it in. We can work through this over photos, zoom or in person (if local), to get the right feel (I like to look at wall colors, light, furniture layout, etc.)
PROCESS
Based on our meetings I’ll create a mood board of your piece, focusing on composition, style, and color pallet giving you an idea of what I envision and to make sure we are on the same page. Once I have your approval, I’ll begin painting. At the half way point I’ll send you a photo of where I’m at. You can request one edit at this point. Expect 10-12 weeks for full completion of the piece.
PRICING
My prices for commissioned pieces start at $500 and go up from there based on materials and size. It runs about 15% more than the paintings sold on my website. This accounts for the time it takes to ensure you’re getting the perfect painting. I ask for a 50% deposit to begin, with the remaining balance, plus shipping, due once your painting is complete.
